Budget and travel advice for Goa, India?
My girlfriend and I are going to go at the end of March. I have three questions:
1. What’s a recommended daily budget? We want to stay in nice but relatively inexpensive guesthouses and huts (as opposed to hotels), eat cheaply and drink a few beers.
2. Where are the nice, quiet Beaches in Goa? Palolem? Agonsa? We don’t really want a party place with big resorts.
3. Is it easy to get to Kerala from Goa on an overnight train? Does it take long? Is it expensive to go first class?
Many thanks for any help you can give.
We already have flights booked and don’t want to do a package holiday but travel around.
Well… cheap/costly are relative terms 
what is cheap for you may be too costly for me … its really hard to give you any suggestions without knowing your budget.
Anyway, We had been to Goa a couple of years back…
stayed in a hotel right on the Calangute beach. For a 3 night 4 days trip for a couple, we spent 12,000 rupees (apart from travel to and fro) The 12,000 included everything… hotel stay in AC room, food, a little bit of shopping, sightseeing etc. which was quite affordable.
Since you say you’ve booked a flight for the travel i assume this would be cheap expense for you too 
No idea about goa-kerala … go to Indian Railways website, you will get idea of their schedules and ticket prices there.
