Dow bribed Indian officials with cash, jewelry, greeting cards An official from the central government chief and his assistants have been bribed to 32,000 dollars in cash and jewelry, while traveling expenses and hotel were also taken by a subsidiary of Dow Chemicals, which took over Union Carbide Company after the Bhopal tragedy in 1984 behind, pushing their standards for pesticides in the Indian market, a complaint lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said.
